I was just sitting down to write a post about waking up when I read this one.
It usually takes Carter a while to wake up in the mornings. We hear him talking, sometimes for quite a while, before he is actually ready to get up. So, we typically wait until we know he's out of bed (playing with toys, rattling the baby gate or standing in the living room having burst out of the baby gate) before we go get him.
Some mornings, we have to get him up before he's completely ready, and today was one of those days. I knew he was awake because I'd heard him talking on the monitor, but when I went in his room, he was still in bed. As soon as he saw me, he clutched his pillow to his head, rolled onto his stomach and pitifully moaned "Noooooooo!".
I told him, "I know how you feel, kid". The poor little guy gets not-a-morning-person genes from both of his parents!

Oh, poor Carter. I feel his pain. I definitely got a huge dose of "not a morning person" genes from somewhere. I perfected the art of pretending to still be asleep at around his age.
that is so cute. it's anyone's guess whose gene our future child will get. i am definitely a morning person, and Bren hates mornings! ooooooh!
I remember when you moved your alarm clock across your bedroom b/c you used to hit snooze so many times and you thought moving it would make you HAVE to get up to turn it off.
However, your arms were so long you could just kinda fling yourself towards it and hit the snooze button and happily go back to sleep for 9 more minutes. ;-)
monkey arms strike again.
I have turned Patrick into a psuedo-morning person so when we have kids I hope it translates into real morning children.
I'll be on the lookout for Patrick's pseudo morning person personality this weekend... I'll believe it when I see it : )
