We're Still Here

Sorry we haven't posted this week. I have been crazy busy at work, and will likely continue to be for the next few weeks, so start harassing Thomas to post!

Carter is feeling much better and is back to his usual self. He is on a roll with eating solid foods these days and definitely prefers feeding himself to being fed by us. He and I started a new music class today - we'll have it every Saturday morning for 10 weeks. We had a lot of fun in class today (the teacher looks quite a bit like our friend Mike Kass). We've also been enjoying the green market in the park on Saturdays (and the playgrounds too).

Thomas has been seeing an ear, nose and throat doctor for the last couple of weeks and (unsurprisingly) has been diagnosed with really, really bad sinus problems. He's having surgery to get fixed up in mid-May.

Here are a few pics of after bath-time antics from this evening.

All Three of Us

Per my dad's request, here's a picture of all three of us. Sort of. Even with my long arms and amazing "thelma & louise" skills, it is hard to take a picture of three people. We had a pretty lazy weekend all in all. We attempted to catch up on sleep by napping whenever Carter did. Thanks to daycare, Carter does actually nap these days, which is nice! I'm off to DC early in the morning for a business trip. It's just a day trip, so I'll be home late tomorrow night. I'm taking the Amtrak Acela Express for the first time - I'm hoping that it will be somewhat easier with the pumping... If I fly I'd have to check my pump because of the liquid ban, which seems silly for a day trip. I have another trip to DC next week, so I'm going to see how the train goes tomorrow before I decide how I'll go next week. Posted by Picasa

Night Out

Last night Thomas and I went to see Mother Courage in Central Park. The show was a good hour too long and renewed Thomas' bewilderment at the theatre community's fascination with Brecht, but it was cool to see Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline perform live.

Between finding someone to watch Carter (thanks, Joo!), rushing to get him to bed, fretting that he would wake up, dashing to the park just in time for the show and dashing home again as soon as it was over, going out sure isn't what it used to be!

Lazy Weekend

This was one of our precious few obligation-free weekends of the summer. We did little other than cooking, napping and taking walks. I fail to understand why people won't move out of the way when they hear a stroller with a crying baby coming up behind them. Then again, I fail to understand why most people walk so slowly to begin with...

Here's a pic of Thomas and Carter that I took this morning. Carter is wearing a onesie that Thomas bought for him in DC on his first business trip after Carter was born. Thomas has been taking more business trips lately, but they have only been day trips so far. In fact, he's off to North Carolina for the day again tomorrow. Posted by Picasa
