Carter's (temporary) New Pet

While watching the AT&T guy (hopefully) fix our phone/TV/Internet, Carter found a new pet that has kept him entertained outside for almost a whole hour.

"Inchwormy"

Carter just decided to feed him a leaf and then lost him. He has now run inside to find his magnifying glass to hopefully find his buddy. I do not have high hopes, but I think it will all be okay.

What the....?!

So, this evening as Elizabeth has just pulled into the driveway, but before she gets to the front door, a moving truck drives down our street, catches a wire strung between the telephone pole and our house and rips the cable off our house and dangling in the street. Thankfully, it was not a power line, but it was our phone, cable, internet. The fire department came, moved the broken wire out of the street, tied the cable still attached to our house to a tree so cars could drive under it "safely" and then left. That's it. No report, or call to utility company, or anything. So after several attempts, AT&T agrees there is a problem and will be out to look at it "hopefully before 7pm on Sat."

Cable still dangling from the house.

That blue and orange wire used to be inside a cable attached to a telephone pole.

Oh, there's the other end that should be at my house but is across the street...

...in this giant pile of wire.

No phone, TV, or Internet until Sat night for us. What will we do?!

Elizabeth & the Boys

It's official. Carter's getting a baby brother, so I'll continue to be the only female in this family! We've been neglegent in blogging about the new addition, so here are a few funnies that have happened along the way:
  • The day we told Carter about the baby, I asked if he wanted to call and share the news with his Mama Helen (who already knew). He agreed, so we called her and he very excitedly told her, "I won Chutes & Ladders!"
  • As he's shared the news with other people, it tends to go like this: "I'm going to be a big sister!"
  • One day, out of the blue, he said, "I'm number one! I'm number one! Wait. No... I'm infinity. That's the biggest number. The baby can be number one."
That's all for now!
