This is how we (Carter) treat guests at our house. You do have to bring us dinner, but we'll tuck you in. So come on over!

John at 6 Months

At six months, John is (within a very small margin of error) the exact same length and weight that Carter was at six months: 29.25 inches and 17.5 pounds.

John loves food. He's eating rice cereal, butternut squash, carrots, green beans and broccoli so far. And he loves it all. And wants more, more, more!

Worn Out

Thomas and Carter went to Houston last weekend to celebrate little T's birthday. When they got home, Carter was, hands down, as tired as I have EVER seen him. Perhaps Thomas will post on their trip one day soon.

I don't have any pictures of Carter from the night they got home, but here are a couple of very funny ones from a couple of weeks ago. He had asked if he could go upstairs and lay down in our bed for a while. This is how we found him. It appears as though he had been watching John on the video monitor and then passed out. Note that this is pretty much what he looks like every night -- totally sprawled out, on top of the covers. It's funnier (and more sad) when he sleeps in his little twin bed because as much of him is off the bed as is on it. He's going to need a bigger bed very soon!

Haircut

Carter got a new haircut last week. He seemed to be hoping for a real mohawk (he kept telling the stylist that it needed to be shorter on the sides, a LOT shorter). But, he seems pretty happy with what he got. We call it the Uncle Park.

He also got some kid-friendly, grape-scented hair product. It's a bit odd that his head smells like grape jam, but he seems to like it.

Ten Years of Valentine's Day Tradition

As we prepared our traditional Valentine's meal of chicken fried steak, fried okra and steamed artichokes, it occurred to me that it is our tenth Valentine's Day together, and our tenth artery-clogging, delicious V-day feast. A look back at our photos revealed that we only started taking pictures a few years ago, and that every picture we have of our Valentine's Day dinner consists of Thomas, wearing a green shirt, looking up at the camera from in front of his full plate. So, this year, we decided to mix it up. You get me, wearing a green shirt, looking up at the camera from in front of my full plate. 

First Mush

It was his first try with "solids", and he did great! He ate the whole bowl and really, really wanted more!
