Sure, birthday presents are cool, but do you know what's really awesome? The boxes they come in.
Cats, kids, it's all the same. Boxes are just a lot of fun.

Puff

Mandi made Carter a dragon for his birthday. Carter is enjoying it very much. In fact, it went to his new daycare to be used as his comfort object for nap time. (And yes, she actually made that dragon - it is unbelievably good!)

Dump Truck

Carter is thoroughly enjoying all his birthday presents, I just haven't gotten a chance to capture pics of him with them all yet. Here he is with the dump truck that Joo got him. The boy likes his truck, and he particularly likes putting stuff in it.

New Toys

This weekend our friends Jim and Betsy were in town and we had brunch with them on Saturday. They brought Carter a very cute baby bowling set. Here are a couple of pictures of Carter enjoying his bowling set. We'll work more on the basics of the game when he's a little older!

Leo

Carter is becoming very playful. He's particularly enjoying his green lion- "Leo" (you can see the bottom half of Leo here). Carter used to be smaller than Leo, but now he can wrestle him down. (Also notice how nicely Carter's hair is starting to fill in.)

Toys

Carter is really starting to enjoy his toys. He is quite grabby these days, and loves to put things in his mouth. If he could, he'd put all his toys in his mouth simultaneously. Sometimes he seems to have forgotten that he can use his hands to pick something up and bring it to his mouth - instead, he just dives for what he wants with his mouth open!

New Toys

Carter really enjoys sitting up in our laps and lately he has been doing crunches in his rocking chair trying to sit up higher, so we got him this nifty little baby chair that allows him to sit up "by himself." We also got him his first ball. He seemed to like both!

Sweet Theodore

Pics below of Carter and his stuffed panda Theodore, so named after a bear that Thomas had as a child. Carter enjoys rolling around with Theodore, holding on to his ears and sucking on his face. We assume that Carter enjoys it anyway. I suppose that he could actually believe that he is fighting for his life against a ferocious bear. But I'm going with the idea that he loves his Theodore. He's so soft.
