More Cabin Pics

Here are a few more shots from the cabin.

Driving the all-terrain-golf cart

Carter entertains himself while the grown-ups read (worked for, like, a whole 5 minutes)

Triominoes!

Kirstin and her incredible hand of mexican sweat (it's a two of a kind, it's a three of a kind, it's a full house - no! it's four of a kind! take that, Patrick!)

Carter at the Cabin

Carter specifically requested a blog post that contained pictures of "only me. Me ONLY!" So, per his request, here are some shots from the last four days that don't include any other people.

Carter in his new headlamp that his Daddy Phil bought him (pretty sure Daddy Phil actually got it for himself, but Carter will be keeping it...)

Carter fishing in the creek. He would "cast" his stick, but then actually use it as a spear to capture leaves.

Enjoying spaghetti dinner (if you look closely, you can see some discarded spaghetti on the back of his head).

Blowing out the candles on our pumpkins!

Hello from Arkansas

Sorry for being such a truly terrible blogger over the last few months. Things haven't been very blog-worthy/blogable. BUT, now we're on a family vacation, so that's definitely some good blog fodder.

We're spending the week with my parents and Patrick and Kirstin (and their feisty fetus) in celebration of my parent's 40th wedding anniversary earlier this month. We've been at our cabin in northern Arkansas since Saturday.  We are headed back to my parent's house today, where we'll be through Sunday. We've been mostly without communications, but once we make it to my parent's house, I should be able to upload some pics of the first half of our week!

Arkansas Trip Part II

It was great to see all the improvements that mom and dad have made at the cabin.

On Sunday we took a stroll through the much improved Little Rock Zoo.

Patrick and Kirstin had great wedding showers.

And it was nice to see so family and friends that we hadn't seen in far too long.

Arkansas Trip Part I

First of all, a big thanks to Delta at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. Both ways we were able to find a jungle gym in the terminal for Carter to burn off some energy.

And then there was more fun to be had at Mama Helen and Daddy Phil's house. This toy was a particularly big hit.

As was the rocking chair that was mine when I was little.

Carter and Esther got along famously. He liked her kisses.

She liked his food.

Arrived

Carter and I arrived safely in Little Rock this morning. Traveling alone with him on my lap wasn't too bad - thanks to the fact that both flights were mostly empty so we had entire rows to ourselves.

We are headed to the cabin for two nights and then will be back here for two nights before heading home on Sunday. I forgot the cord to download pics from my camera, but I'll try to post some pics this weekend from my mom's camera.

I'm pretty excited to be going to the cabin - I haven't been in over a year and a half and Carter has never been (unless you count the embryonic state).
